Design # 100 was a custom Grainger Design for Gary Martin sailmaker. That boat was cruised extensively and proved to be a very comfortable though somewhat Spartan "live-aboard-couple's-boat" for a few years. The combination of light build weight, long lean hulls, and generous sail area, provided acceleration and speed both in light airs and in heavy-going at sea. Gary says "the boat often had to be slowed down at sea for meal-times or to rest her exhausted crew `burned-out' by her outright speed". This is why we are so confident to include her here among out other high performance offerings. Power options are small sail drive or shaft drive diesels. Cutloose was built in cedar-epoxy - a foam composite version can be built by MTG for a performance-minded sailor. |
